The 21 Game
Perhaps the 21 game might be unknown to you, but Blackjack surely rings a bell. The reason why it is also called the 21 game is because of the rules of the game, where the player must beat the dealer’s hand by having a hand value of up to 21, but never over. It is also informally known as a pontoon.
The reason behind blackjack’s popularity is simple. Players can, with enough dedication, increase the chance of winning against the house as it is also a game of skill. This brought many talented people in search of money to the blackjack tables, hoping to win every game.
Rules of the Game
In most cases, the rules remain unchanged; meaning that to win you must beat the dealer’s hand. You will lose if your cards have a total value that is below that of the dealer or if the value goes over 21. The face values of the cards determine their values. Kings, queens and jacks will net you 10 points while aces can go for either 1 or 11. In the case that the casino you’re using has specific rules it would be recommended to read about them in the rulebook.
